Found it ! So my brother Brian and our nephew Jake were in town the last few days, it was Jakes first time in NY and we were doing as much tourist things as possible. Also on the agenda was find the new September issue of “Freshly Inked Magazine” with my mug on the cover. We found it at the 3rd place we looked, a Barnes & Noble, they had a stack of five, so we decided to leave one. I don’t know if you ever had your face on the cover of a magazine at a book store or a newsstand, but let me tell you its a pretty great feeling. I’m very thankful and happy to see some fruits of my labor, I’m blessed. Thanks again to Freshly Inked mag for letting me wear a suit, thanks to all my friends who always support me and wish me well, I’m nothing without you guys. It makes me proud to make my friends proud. We are all self made.
I love this picture of my very dear friend Sabina Kelley, Beautiful woman inside and out. Freemason lamp.
My first real job was Beekeeping. So I was looking at the website of the amazing photographer David Yellen, the photographer who shot my Freshly Inked cover that just came out, and came across this beautiful photo that brought back so many memories. A special Thanks to David for really going above and beyond to make sure the Freshly Inked cover picture was legit. “No bees no honey, no work no money”
Every now and again I look at my blog and I think, its time to post a picture of a beautiful woman, as the pictures of myself, my tattoos, my adventures need a little softening up. So I surf the internet a bit and find a picture that jumps out at me. Here we have a lovely model named Emily Senko, I love her look…just beautiful. Pure art. I’m sorry I don’t know the name of the photographer or her parents to give proper credit.
I was pleasantly surprised yesterday with a sneak peak of the September issue of Freshly Inked Magazine, set the hit stands next week. I am very pleased with the picture, and honored to be on the cover.
I always joke that the fashion world has shown more love then my own industry, and then this cover happened out of the blue. But I’ve always said “I don’t represent tattooing, and tattooers…I represent myself, my friends, my family, and hard work” Life is more about personal relationship, then a culture or a career. Be good to people and good things happen.
The end of a era and the beginning of a new empire. On this day Tim and Brian came with me to clear out all my things from Luckys Tattoo Parlor in San Diego, where I learned how to tattoo (the original Dave Gibson’s Lucky’s tattoo parlor) and held a partnership with a very old friend for around 10 years.

The Bird Of Paradise so-named for its remarkable bird-like appearance when in bloom, is a favorite among horticulturists and can be found growing in gardens worldwide. I don’t tattoo these that often, it was fun to do this one and no better skin then some pale leg skin.
