This was the first time my brother and I had ever went ice skating. I turned the camera on at the perfect time. His lady had done it before and was getting a kick out of watching us. here is a you tube video to prove it.
A throwback photo of Norton, Brian, and D (Grand opening of new shop location circa 2009) That was a good time. but the best is yet to come.
It was also my close friend Morgwn Pennypackers birthday that day and about 28 or so friends got a little cartoon head of him tattooed. It was a great night my friend Diablo Dimes played, the Diamond Dog Crew was all there, and old cars lined the outside of the building. The night was full of fun, laughter, and well wishing friends from all over. Thank to everyone who was there. Here some more photos of that great night.
The “Sugar skulls” or “Calaveras de azucar” are one of my personal favorite tattoos, I love that they can be done in so many ways, Full of color, designs and life. (The Sugar Skull tattoo was ague-ably first done or at least first made popular by my friend and tattooist Freddy Corbin from Oakland California, Temple Tattoo)
The sugar skull tradition-
Sugar art was brought to the New World by Italian missionaries in the 17th century. The first Church mention of sugar art was from Palermo at Easter time when little sugar lambs and angels were made to adorn the side altars in the Catholic Church. Mexico, abundant in sugar production and lacking money to buy fancy imported European church decorations at the time, learned quickly from the friars how to make sugar art for their religious festivals. Clay molded sugar figures of angels, sheep and sugar skulls go back to the Colonial Period 18th century.
Sugar skulls represented a departed soul, had the name written on the forehead and was placed on the home ofrenda or gravestone to honor the return of a particular spirit. Sugar skull art reflects the folk art style of big happy smiles, colorful icing and sparkly tin and glittery adornments. Common ingredients for making sugar skulls include powdered sugar, egg white, corn syrup, vanilla, and corn starch. Typically, sugar skulls need to dry overnight or for several hours. Sugar skulls are labor intensive and made in very small batches in the homes of sugar skull makers. However, these artisans are disappearing as fabricated and imported candy skulls take their place

This one is a bit edgy with the upside down cross and stuff, but as you grow and go through life you learn to question the things that you may have been forced to believe as a youth. I wont get too deep in what I write here about this sheet. All I’ll say is I try to paint whats on my mind and in my heart. Seek truth.

Made up mostly of quiet giants people you may have never heard of people who are constantly pushing independently, artistically and financially …Mostly fellas who have come from very humble beginnings and should never have made it as far as we have, dudes who have made it through the ghettos in which we were raised without being jailed or killed. And have made it beyond the traditional ghetto mentality … And instead of fighting over our blocks were fighting to buy our blocks…becoming owners not renters . Leaders not followers. Through any means… violently, politically, or poetically. Not just survive bit thrive. And when we roll though hoods we are protected because real recognizes real. Ghetto Protected. Were out to snatch fame from the lames…and chedder from the haters. And give game to our youngsters… So they can stop looking up to wanksters.
