The Peoples court is the original tv reality show, It started in 1981 showing actual cases with actual parties involved. The first reality court show that did not use actors. There has been a few judges on this show but I did not start watching the show till maybe 2002 or so and Judge Marilyn Milian has been there ever since.
I am not a big tv watcher at all these days, I spend at the very most 2 hours a week or so in front of the tube, other then that I Netflix at my drawing table. I believe life is for the living not the watching. But I do still DVR The Peoples Court, partly because I think Judge Milian is the wonderful, and partly because I enjoy learning the basic laws involved with small claims. I had the opportunity to to sit in on a taping a couple months back, I had such a great time talking with the judge and all the people behind the scenes. Special thanks to Matt for the warm hospitality.
It has been quite a few years since I have done the Ink & Iron tattoo convention. The last time I did, it was with my dear friend Nervio, and we had such a good time. So this year I will be flying in from New York to do Ink & Iron and working with one of my favorite people/tattooers in the world my friend Tim Hendricks. We will be next to our friends from Goldrush Tattoo in Costa Mesa and other great friends including Dan Smith and Dave Kruseman. Tim will be selling all his great swag; custom tattoo machines, sketchbooks, tattoo pens and his new T shirt line, which is a must have in any wardrobe
I will be selling some new very limited prints, the classic “California Love Lucky’s Tee” and sketchbooks. I am 99% booked up but please stop by and say hello. We will see you there. June 8,9,and 10
Picture above: Hand painted name signs, Tim did for our booth at the show. He’s truly the best.
It must have been ten years ago that I seen Blueprint perform with Atmosphere in a small club in San Diego, some shows and artist are easy to forget, that show wasn’t and this dude ain’t. Thanks to Riki-Kay for sending me a link to this one . This is some good shit right here. Get with it kids, this is hip hop. Thanks Blueprint and Rymesayer’s for putting out some serious quality.
“all they want to do is rhyme about their shoes and gear.. they sound like chicks talking about they nails and hair”
I have been slowly working on a small Rose Sketchbook over the past year, it will be over 50 pages of just roses. It will have guest pages from some of the best tattooers in the world. The few guys that have asked to be a part, I have asked for two reasons, 1: distinction in their roses (styles I personally love). 2: They are friends of mine whom which I respect and Im proud to have them involved. (TH,MW,CG,LC) to name a few .) Stay tuned.
In My opinion southern California style tattoo or street inspired T-shirts have been super played out in the last few years, I’m over seeing skulls on everything and shitty script lettering. Its just too redundant at this point. but…
Tim Hendricks new line on the other hand is a breath of fresh style. Street and tattoo inspired slightly but unique enough to be different from the overplayed stuff that I’m seeing too much of these days. But its no surprise really coming from Tim, as much like his tattoos he puts a magical and artistic touch to all his projects.
The only clothing brands that I support are; Reven, Us Versus Them, Tribal Gear, To Die For, and now saltwatertattoo. These brands are more then just some rich people trying to be cool or make more money, These are brands that come from up out of the streets by real dudes making shit they believe in. Life and struggle inspired. Respect C/S
I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a Koi fish and some Japanese finger waves. This guy here was with his friend and they both were in their “whites” from the night before, both stained from a long night of NY partying. True sailors, and the best part is during the tattoo, him and I exchanged what we each knew about the navy and its strong ties to traditional tattooing, the meaning of swallows, nautical stars, and classic images like that. I was impressed with his knowledge on the subject, it was great. Good for him, its cool to see a young guy respecting some tradition.
