A great write up and photo essay on yours truly in one of the best luxury and fashion blogs in the world. The Coveteur.
When I started in tattooing in the late 90′s I made it my life, I figured if this is what I’m doing for a living I had to go all in. As I grew up on my own since I was about 15 I was forced to have a strong work ethic. I made tattooing my passion, even though my main passion was to be stable and not broke. As a child my mother made my clothes or bought them at the thrift shops, I didn’t feel embarrassment about that until my early teens. Luckily I grew up around the younger brothers of gang members and fell into some of the dress codes that were clean, cheap, and coordinated. Fancy brands and hot trends were out of my finacial reach so I found a presentalble smooth style that worked for me as I started to make my own money. Converse, Dickies, plain AAA tee shirts, saved the day. I was lucky to grow up around a lot of well dressed and always stylish black dudes and owe a lot of my eye for style to them. Lorenzo, Kenneth, Mikey P, Lawan…
Fast forward to now, NYC a inspiring place for style and fashion. I’ve been involved with sportswear and fashion only slightly the last 20 years but always have pay a little attention to it as I feel how you dress and personal style is a form of art, mixing colors, textures, and patterns. I love the freedom of style, especially in ny. Anyway Im rambling, I just want to thank the good people of the Coveteur for the brilliant photo essay and write up. I love it.

Election Day is still a few months away, but fans attending On The Run Tour: Beyonce and JAY Z will get an artistic reminder to vote – courtesy of the tattoo artist Luke Wessman and the non-profit organization HeadCount.org. <full interwiev
Wessman designed a limited-edition postcard highlighting the phrase “#GoVote,” which will be available at HeadCount’s voter registration tables on most stops of the tour. Fans can sign a “Pledge to Vote” on the back of each postcard. HeadCount will then mail each person the postcard with their signature just before the November election.”

Coming Soon ~ The PMA machine, brought to you by @lukewessman and @timhendricks. $100 from every sale of a limited edition PMA Machine will go to a foundation, charity or good cause, each quarter year we will pick a new one to donate to. This quarter will be onelifeonechance.com. OLOC’s mission is to engage and inspire elementary, middle and high school students to make healthy choices and live a Drug Free life. This is what PMA means to us: PMA is a acronym for Positive Mental Attitude. For us it traces back to a book from 1960 by Napoleon Hill called “Success through a Positive Mental Attitude” by way of our dear friend @tobymorse (lead singer of H2O). We have our whole bodies full of tattoos, some profound statements, some mark great journeys, memorials, or just great moments, but the PMA tattoo is something special. It is useful in our daily lives as we find ourselves with may moments and interactions that desire one of two choices, positivity or negativity. So we get PMA tattooed on us, it isn’t necessarily because we are happy and super positive all the time, no, we get it to give ourselves a constant reminder that we have a choice. Choose PMA, it’s always the best choice.
