Ami James has been around his shop here in new york the last couple of weeks a whole lot, it’s always good to see him here at Wooster Street. I owe him a lot and I’m proud to call him friend. Here he is sketching a idea for a back piece, super slick Ami.
My good friend turned me on to this show “Breaking Bad” and much like any great show you watch enough, you become somewhat invested in the characters that play roles in the show…So in this case it was funny/cool to see Jay Leno pull these old clips of Aaron Paul aka “Pinkman” on a old Price is Right. Also I just tattooed a “Hiesnberg” on a few of my friends who really love the show including Dave Navarro and Toby Morse.
One of my dearest friends and one of my favorite tattoo artists…Tim Hendricks will be back taking some walk-ins with us at Wooster Street Social Club aka NY Ink in Soho New York city…starting on Thursday the 16th…there is a small window of opportunity here…dont miss it…and good luck. Today marked a very significant moment…Our dear friend Seth Abrams aka “the Goon” survived a Aneurysm and a Stroke 7 months ago…And this Runyon 5K run/walk at Yankee stadium marked for him and all of us a example of his healing progress…as he was near death…27 of his family and close friends and even the Doctor that saved his life showed up to show support and share in the joy of our dear friends health and returning mobility.
My big brother Morgwn Pennypacker draws the best gangster skulls. The reason I tattoo skulls like this once and a while, because I learned how to draw them his way over the years working with him everyday in Miami. I used this for a banner for a hollywood tattoo convention a while back. Thanks Morgwn GPFxOGBTSC
Growing up in Southern California, you knew about Tribal Gear if you had any connection with the Southern California street culture at all…because they were all over it …I have been very blessed over the years to build a friendship with Mr Ruiz that I am very honored by and proud of…So seeing people like Bobby Hundreds who has a popular, growing, and successful street brand, going to San Diego and paying respect publicly to Bobby at Tribal is very cool to see. I love when my friends and good people get the credit and the respect they deserve. (more…)
Brixton come out of my hometown of Oceanside,California. Originally just hats I think, but now they went on to make some other great clothes and accessories. Knowing the guys involved makes me extra proud of them and how far they have come, they are stand up guys with class. I wish them continuous growth and success with Brixton and whatever other endeavors they involve themselves with. Here is a little video of their 2012 fall collection that I found on Hypebeast. (There is a few shots of my favorite surf spot growing up, south side Oceanside pier)
All the best to Dave and Pete and the rest of the good people at Brixton,
