While I was in California I stopped at Hurley to visit with my friend Ryan Hurley. He showed me this amazing Ed Hardy painting of a tiger he bought from Ed recently. Its a very large piece and a very important piece for any art collector. I felt fortunete to get a peak of this master piece as Ryan was measuring it for the framer. Ed Hardy is one of the most important men in tattooing and has played a huge role in its merge with the art world. He is a living legend. Thanks you Ed. (I think this thing was close to 4′x12′)
I had such a amazing trip to Spain. So much culture, good food, and so many good people. This picture here was from a spot at the top of La Ramblas street. I seen a large group of pigeons and a little girl in the mist, so I went over to see what was going on. There was a lady selling bird feed for a couple euro and the pigeons would just flock to you if you had some. I ask the little girl if it was safe as she sat on a step with birds all over her. she said yes and I proceeded to pour bird seed in my hands and stand next to her. We got this cool pic together. feeding the birds turned out to be very cool. It was a unlikely highlight of my trip.
I’m very honored to announce that I will be tattooing non stop at Oliver Peckers friday the 13th annual tattoo marathon this friday starting at 12am. See you there.
One of the ideas of getting a 13 tattoo is that getting one tattooed on you wards off bad luck because it tricks bad luck as it approaches and thinks you already have it, in turn making it good luck.
Every year I hear from friends how great our friend Oliver Peck’s “Friday 13th” tattoo party is. Every year I secretly hope to be invited to such a event, well this is the year, Oliver called me to be a part and I’m so excited ! Staring at 12am friday September 13th I will be joining tons of friends and peers down in Dallas to do 24 hours of straight tattooing. I’ll be tattooing as many “friday the 13th” themed tattoos in the period of 24 hours. Up until now I think about 14 or so is the most I have ever done in a day. I hopping the get close to a hundred, but having never done this event I’m not sure how it’s gonna go down. See you there. 13$ tattoo 7$ tip for good luck ! Check this video out – 13th Tattoo-a-thon
The end of a era and the beginning of a new empire. On this day Tim and Brian came with me to clear out all my things from Luckys Tattoo Parlor in San Diego, where I learned how to tattoo (the original Dave Gibson’s Lucky’s tattoo parlor) and held a partnership with a very old friend for around 10 years.
