We hit 23k recently. Thank you from @lostartofthegentleman
Growing up in southern Cali around a lot of gangs, I seen “Trust No One” tattooed on the big homies in the neighborhood all the time, and then later when I started tattooing I tattoo it on some real G’s. Its stems from the harsh street mentality of only being able to trust yourself, and unfortunitly you can only really trust a few people completely, as the hearts of men are week and loyalty is rare these days. I say be trust worthy but Trust No One.

A great write up and photo essay on yours truly in one of the best luxury and fashion blogs in the world. The Coveteur.
When I started in tattooing in the late 90’s I made it my life, I figured if this is what I’m doing for a living I had to go all in. As I grew up on my own since I was about 15 I was forced to have a strong work ethic. I made tattooing my passion, even though my main passion was to be stable and not broke. As a child my mother made my clothes or bought them at the thrift shops, I didn’t feel embarrassment about that until my early teens. Luckily I grew up around the younger brothers of gang members and fell into some of the dress codes that were clean, cheap, and coordinated. Fancy brands and hot trends were out of my finacial reach so I found a presentalble smooth style that worked for me as I started to make my own money. Converse, Dickies, plain AAA tee shirts, saved the day. I was lucky to grow up around a lot of well dressed and always stylish black dudes and owe a lot of my eye for style to them. Lorenzo, Kenneth, Mikey P, Lawan…
Fast forward to now, NYC a inspiring place for style and fashion. I’ve been involved with sportswear and fashion only slightly the last 20 years but always have pay a little attention to it as I feel how you dress and personal style is a form of art, mixing colors, textures, and patterns. I love the freedom of style, especially in ny. Anyway Im rambling, I just want to thank the good people of the Coveteur for the brilliant photo essay and write up. I love it.
