Jose started with some lettering “Unforgettable” on his lower arm, it was his first tattoo and at that time I don’t think he thought he would go all the way with a sleeve, but thats how it starts. Next we added the mermaid with a little bit of Japanese finger waves, after that we added the koi, more water, and the peonies. So we finally finished this thing the other day. Thank you Jose for your openness and your consistency. Good client and a fun tattoo.
Although it is not legal to declare this anymore in actual war, due to “The Laws of War“. I declare “Expect no Quarter” in my life as a metaphor for not quitting. No Mercy !!
I was so shocked to hear that Junior Seau has been killed. As a young kid growing up in Oceanside California we didn’t have too many heroes, and a lot of us looked up to the gangsters and top drug dealers in the area, they had the respect of the street, they had all the nice stuff, the cleanest Impalas the newest Escalades. But amongst all that nonsense was a great admiration for Junior Seau, that everyone felt, he was the hometown hero, one of the most known and respected guys that made it from our time period and our city. I recently had the honor and pleasure to spend a holiday at his home in Oceanside with him and some of his family, where I was so welcomed and forced to eat so much good food, Junior kept saying “Luke ! eat ” I will cherish that memory and the memory of his life.
One of my best/oldest friends Rob Ruiz is a world class chef out of Oceanside, and would cook for him and his family from time to time, and thats how the connection was made.
I am not a sports fan, but Im a big fan of good people. Junior was a good person and will be missed greatly here on earth, as the earth needs more people like him. Rest in Power big homie, Thanks for all the good. Respect #55

Bob Marley’s universal appeal, impact on music history and role as a social and political prophet is both unique and unparalleled. MARLEY is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best.
As a young kid I would go to the library and rent tapes and copy them, among these tapes was Bob Marley and the Wailers, more precisely “Legend” I’ll never forget that time period in my life listening to that tape, and from that time on Bob Marley and his music left a lasting impression in my heart. (I have some old portraits of Bob I drew back then somewhere) A couple of friends brought me to see this newly released documentary “Marley” and I was so pleasantly surprised on how good it was. Go see this film if you get a chance, its a bit long being just under 2 and a half hours, but it does not drag.
Its always a pleasure to tattoo someone who has tattoos by other tattooers that you respect. In this case my friend Kevin here has a couple real nice tattoos from one of my favorite tattooers in New York City, my friend Damion Ross at New York Adorned. Damion’s tattoo style is my favorite “The kind that look good and last forever, style” the way tattoos should look and be.
You can get a small sample of Damion’s work here NyAdorned
